Acceptable Use of ElkNet Internet Service for Publishing Content
Content includes, but is not limited to:
- HTML (Web) pages, including all linked content
- FTP files in personal or anonymous disk areas
- eMail text and/or attached files
- USENet (news) postings and/or attached files
ElkNet, as a general rule, will not examine user e-mail or
personal directory contents. If, however, ElkNet is made aware
in any manner of content that the ElkNet administration deems,
in its sole discretion, to be unacceptable, ElkNet retains
the right to remove or deny access to such content.
The following types of content, in either visual graphic,
auditory, or text descriptive, are prohibited on ElkNet systems:
- Nudity
- Indecent
- Obscene
- Cursing
- Spamming (excessive, unsolicited, mass emailings)
- Excessively violent
- Slanderous
- Libelous
- Threatening or otherwise harassing
- Copyrighted without owners permission
- In violation of any state or federal law
Note that within the context of genuine scientific or educational
usage, exceptions to the above may be made. Contact the ElkNet

In addition, any activity intended to disrupt third parties'
use or enjoyment of the ElkNet service is unacceptable.
ElkNet's actions with respect to all such content and/or
activity may include the moving or deleting of said content,
and/or the restriction, suspension, or termination of member's
access privileges.
