Business Grade High Speed Internet Access

ISDN--- DSL --- T1

When choosing a high speed Internet Access for your business, there are several options available and the one that is most beneficial to your company is dependent on your needs and requirements. Below are some questions to consider when determining your needs and a comparison of ISDN, DSL and T1 in each case.

How much speed do I need?
  • ISDN is available as 64kb (single channel) or 128kb (dual channel) and can support 1 to 6 computers concurrently. Networks of more than 6 may see slower speeds.
  • DSL is available as 512kb, 1.5Mb and 3.0Mb. It supports from one computer up to an entire network.
  • T1 is available as 64kb, 128kb, 256kb, 384kb (.25 T1), 512kb, 768kb (.5 T1), 1536kb (T1). It supports from one computer up to an entire network.
Where are these services available?
  • ISDN is available in Elkhorn, Lake Geneva, Lauderdale and Williams Bay. Your local telephone company must offer ISDN lines.
  • DSL is available in the Elkhorn/Lauderdale Lakes area and requires local telephone service from State Long Distance Telephone.
  • T1 is available most anywhere - facilities charges are determined by mileage.
Do I need a 24x7 connection?
  • ISDN typically is a dial-up connection best suited for casual browsing, e-mail and file transfers.
  • DSL is an 'always on' connection, not a dial up.
  • T1 is an 'always on' connection, not a dial up.
